Profile
Sebastian Ogawa (August 18, 19XX (Julian calendar: August 5, 19XX)) is a former Japanese trumpet player and self-proclaimed music researcher and classical music enthusiast. He is also a practitioner of the mysterious Northern Chinese martial arts.[citation needed]Rehabilitation practice in progress (circa 2017).
Appears to have injured his upper lip in an accident.

Life
Born in a prefecture abundant in kamaboko (fish cakes). Began playing the trumpet in middle school as a member of the school wind ensemble. Studied trumpet under a professional orchestra player. Later attended the “Music University Beyond the River,” studying under professors from both that institution and the “Music University on the Upper Plains.” Received further guidance in “Anpanman Trumpet” from his own child. Greatly honed his skills.
Performed across Japan in solo and orchestra settings, gaining moderate recognition. While sometimes freezing up during jazz improvisations, he manages to get through with momentum. In jazz funk, he dances; in baseball cheering, he powers through with spirit. In wind ensembles, he blends into the surrounding sound, and in solos, he adopts a defiant attitude. Preferring dimly lit spaces, he feels most at home in opera orchestra pits.
Hiatus Due to Traffic Accident
In 200X, while cycling, he was hit by a light truck, injuring his front teeth and lips, which forced him to pause his performance career. Believing that dental implants and lip reconstruction surgery would enable him to play better than before, he resumed practice after an eight-year hiatus. Since then, he jokingly introduces himself by recounting this accident as “accident introduction,” but only one in five people smile.
Personality and Anecdotes
As a child, he once burst into tears upon hearing the loud sound of a trumpet played casually by his uncle. Later, inspired by “Legendary Trumpeter Kuroki,” he decided to become a trumpeter. Known as a “practice fanatic,” he is said to practice relentlessly without letting go of his instrument, surpassing even the commitment of Kohei Kiguchi.[citation needed]
He studies how the characteristics of different instrument models affect performance skill development. Middle and high school wind ensemble members often become his research subjects, but his thorough observations occasionally lead to misunderstandings as a suspicious individual.
A devoted admirer of Norwegian trumpeter Ole Edvard Antonsen, he is also an ardent follower of the Staatskapelle Dresden, believing that their home state of Saxony is the true mecca of music.
As a Self-Proclaimed Music and Classical Music Researcher
During his time in middle and high school wind ensembles, he became hooked on classical music, particularly orchestral music, after performing works by Wagner and Sibelius. He spent nearly all his allowance on collecting CDs and scores. His obsession reached the point where he acquired over 15 versions of the same piece performed by different conductors and orchestras, repeatedly comparing instrument balances and reveling in the experience.
The first CDs he purchased in his life as an elementary school student were a collection of Wagner preludes conducted by Karl Böhm with the Vienna Philharmonic and Michael Jackson’s BAD.
When he first heard Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, he mistakenly thought, “Why is Michael Jackson’s ‘Will You Be There’ playing in the middle of the fourth movement? Was he alive back then? He must not have been human!” completely misplacing his awe.
He particularly enjoys performances where every note in the score can be distinctly heard.

Sony Headphones MDR-EX110AP/B, among others.
As a Mysterious Martial Artist
He is said to be a master of the Northern Chinese martial art “Digongquan,” which involves rolling and fighting on the ground. This art belongs to the same family as Drunken Fist. Reports suggest he was already training as a child, although it was observed in the toy section of a department store in front of his mother, leading some to believe it was simply a tantrum.
When asked about it, he cryptically replies, “As it is passed down in secrecy, it remains a mystery….”
